Come Hither. Green Gables Gardens and Farms is a glorious garden in Philomath, OR, that I am compelled to visit at least once each spring.

This image is from my first visit. I was shooting everything I saw—the possibilities were endless—the flowers and trees were lush and abundant. I had shot for hours and hours, and I thought, “I´m done!”

Then, I started to notice all of the pine trees. There were so many, that I became fascinated by all the colors and shapes of the trees, the tips and the cones. What a neat idea—pine tips!

I always like to gaze deeply into nature to see what is there, preferring to shoot macro or close-ups to capture the details of what I see. You will find another entire world out there when you stop, actually smell and look at the roses and the pine tips too.

Wandering around, I noticed a beautiful smoky-blue color. Standing there, observing the tree, this particular branch spoke to me. It is one pine tip outstretched from all the rest, like a finger beckoning, “Come hither, come to me”.
